For the lulz?

Bullshit, some work definitely went into this and it's obvious!
Definitely one of the better songs submitted, this is a real contender for one of the four winners. It's an original tune, the diversity is there, the originality is there, the effects are there, EQ and panning are all there. Great job man, thoroughly enjoyed this track! Though, one thing, where is the Amen Break? I can't hear it :P
Well done though!

Mid-Night responds:

The amen is in the beginning, the breakdown(if you can even call it that), and it's filtered in the background.. though I don't know if that's good enough for them.

I think I worked on this for about 45-50mins

Liking it.

Not sure about the beat boxing though, I've heard better ;)
Good tune though, really catchy and the Amen Break definitely fits in really well here. I'm assuming you sliced up the break yourself and got those beats? If so, pretty nicely done, well done. The contest has seen some really good entries so far, but this one is definitely a contender for the third or fourth spot. Well done!

Pretty good

Like the mix of the ambience with the drum and bass. Don't think I've seen this style many times on Newgrounds. Bass sounded good, could've done with being louder though. Tune was awesome and it was just a pleasure to listen to. Forgive me for not being very in depth, I'm tired and you're a judge. ;) Well done!

boney-man responds:

i seem to have an issue with my bass loudness... i always think it should be louder, but its maxed usually lol.

thanks tho

Unusual name, great track!

I'm not sure if the bass you wanted came out right, it sounded punchy, but not that heavy.

The track sounded awesome anyway, reminds me of some of Noisia's heavier stuff. Great use of the Amen Break, you came up with some interesting but well-fitting beats.

Liked the synths later on, but they sounded a bit flat, maybe fiddle around with a high pass filter on it.

Aside from that man, a great track and definitely a contender for the winning spot of the contest! Well done!

Not really sure..

Not a huge fan of the voice, it didn't really fit in well with the track. The tune was good and catchy. You've got the panning right, didn't sound uncomfortably mono like a lot of other tracks. Also there was clashing beats at the 1 minute mark, that sounded dreadful, you needed to cut that up better. The whole thing sounded a bit flat, do some more equalizing. I don't like leaving harsh sounding reviews, but knowing where you went wrong is how you improve :) Not that I am much better anyway. Well done!

Dark & Heavy, great!

Loved the intro, that and the overall tune gave the track the edge it has. Love the use of sound effects, though I'm not sure all of them fitted in everywhere.

The main hook sounded quieter than the intro, which was a bit of a let down, it needed louder bass underneath it and punchier drums to really give the track the feel of a top quality track.

Aside from that I can't find anything wrong with it, you should just give up judging and enter this.

Well done dude!

Awesome!

This is the first time I've heard cardboard scraped over a grill pan for a bass, it worked great. You're one of the few people that can get close if not replicate the commercial DnB sound of artists like Noisia, Spor and SubFocus. Great punchy drumming, can't tell if the whole thing is the Amen Break though, I assume it is. A nice heavy tune to top it off and this is what you got. Nice work dude!

Rig responds:

I just used the amen in the beginning and in the middle part. Thanks for the encouragement!

Great track!

Intro was very catchy, sounds almost like Indian music at the start. Introducing the guitar was definitely a good idea, it sounded great! Great use of the Amen Break, you've achieved diversity and originality, that is I'm assuming you cut it up and re-arranged it yourself :P The beat was nice and clear, not too quiet and not too loud. Really good track here! I hate to be the only one so far not to vote 10, but it's a contest so I'm trying not to over exaggerate. Well done dude, keep it up! I'll try and check out some of your other stuff too.

Sytze responds:

Thanks. Yeah thats exactly what I did to the Amen Break.

Pretty good

Like was said before, the intro was pretty rough, if you can bare the intro, then it moves on to a pretty good track. I've not played Unreal Tournament, but from what your saying this is a song from it? I'm not putting any bad afflictions to using other peoples tunes, but it does make it less original obviously. You need to increase the volume of the bass and generally equalize this track a lot. The drums were pretty quiet a lot of the time, being an amen break contest, having the break too quiet isn't such a good idea lol. Anyway, good track, I'll try and check out your other tracks as well. I like to be honest but I don't want to come across as harsh either even if it sounds like it. Knowing where you've gone wrong is how you improve, remember that! :)
Well done dude!

Killa5o9 responds:

Thank you very much for the review!
This is just the first submission, my other submission i think you would like.

Not sure..

Not a huge load of effort unfortunately, doesn't sound bad though. At least it's in somewhat stereo and doesn't sound to Mono. I could imagine it being used in a kind of.. nuclear fallout Chernobyl type situation, if that makes sense? Definitely could be used as a sound effect. Also, the pressure of the water would have killed you before you could even get a mile down ;)

alcatraz5 responds:

It makes sense.

And, I know about the pressure killling you sooner, but I thought a few miles would add suspense, especially if your still alive.

Thanks!

Shut up, you bitch. Tehe :3
